Nanocoating
Invisible protection. Maximum effect.
Nanocoating
Purocoat 17/02 UV
SE-TEC is expanding its coating portfolio with a nano-coating based on Purocoat 17/02 UV for maximum reliability of assemblies. The ultra-thin fluoropolymer protective layer complements selective painting and encapsulation and closes the gap in the field of transparent, barely visible surface protection solutions.
Continuous development of the QM system
- Ultra-thin protection – transparent layer of approx. 500 nm, virtually invisible but highly effective
- Broad protective effect – reliable protection against moisture, corrosion, oil, chemicals, and dirt
- Electrically contactable – no masking necessary; contacts remain functional
- Fast process – dipping, drying, no post-curing required.
- High resistance – UV-stable, aging- and temperature-resistant.
- Safe and environmentally friendly – non-flammable, REACH and RoHS compliant.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Nano-Coating
What is nano-coating in electronic assemblies?
Nano-coating is a very thin, nearly invisible protective layer for electronic assemblies. It protects the surface from moisture, dirt, corrosion, oil, and certain chemical agents.
SE-TEC offers nano-coating as a complementary protective process to painting and potting.
What are the advantages of nano-coating over traditional coating?
Nano-coating is exceptionally thin and transparent. As a result, the appearance of the assembly remains virtually unchanged, while it still receives additional protection.
Another advantage is that contacts remain functional and no complex masking is required. Suitability is assessed on a project-by-project basis.
When is a nano-coating the right solution?
Nano-coating is suitable when components need to be protected from moisture, dirt, or corrosion without applying a thick layer of paint or potting compound.
It is particularly useful for applications where barely visible surface protection, fast processability, and unrestricted electrical contact are important.
Does a nano-coating replace coating or encapsulation?
Not always. Nano-coating, protective coating, and potting meet different protection requirements. While nano-coating provides a very thin layer of surface protection, coating and potting offer greater mechanical or environmental protection, depending on the application.
SE-TEC assists in selecting the appropriate protection method for each assembly.
