  3. Introduction of vapor phase soldering

SE-TEC has introduced a vapor phase soldering system from the manufacturer ASSCON.
It complements our existing reflow technology. This enables us to process sophisticated designs and high-performance assemblies even more reliably.
Products from high-frequency, sensor, and power electronics benefit in particular.

In vapor phase soldering, an inert liquid is heated and used as saturated vapor. The assembly is immersed in the vapor. Condensing vapor heats the components evenly to the defined maximum temperature.
This prevents overheating. The oxygen-free atmosphere prevents oxidation of the solder joints.

Advantages at a glance:

  • No overheating with different thermal masses
  • Inert soldering atmosphere, no oxidation
  • Very even heat distribution (ΔT< 2 °C)
  • Concealed solder joints and sensitive modules can be soldered reliably
  • Gentle processing for a long service life of the assembly

We would be happy to provide you with detailed information about the process and its possible applications.

Yours sincerely, Sebastian Schollmeyer / Operations Manager
