SE-TEC is expanding its SMT production with another high-performance placement machine. The new Juki RS-1R significantly increases the throughput of our SMD production and complements the existing Juki RX6 systems.
Thanks to the additional placement capacity, we can manufacture complex electronic assemblies even more efficiently and better balance our production lines. The RS-1R handles small components such as 0201 parts just as reliably as larger components. This allows us to manufacture high-volume orders effectively and consistently with a high degree of automation.
3D AOI for enhanced quality assurance
In conjunction with the line expansion, an Omron VT-S730 3D AOI system was integrated directly into the production line. This allows us to add an additional inspection step while also providing redundancy for our existing 3D AOI system on another SMD line.
The system inspects solder joints, pins, and components using precise 3D measurement. This allows potential issues — such as component misalignment, coplanarity problems, or inadequate solder joints—to be detected, evaluated, and documented at an early stage.
Our established SPC analysis allows us to systematically monitor process data, identify trends early on, and respond quickly. By classifying and sorting components directly on the production line, inspected assemblies can be processed immediately. This shortens response times, reduces manual intermediate steps, and improves production throughput. Additional buffer and handling modules ensure a stable material flow and optimal utilization of the entire SMD line.
